Cesc Fabregas tipped for one more Arsenal season

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta claims transfer target Cesc Fabregas will play one more season with Arsenal FC before heading back to Spain.

Fabregas has been involved in a protracted tug-of-war between the two clubs during the off-season, with the Gunners refusing to sanction the sale of their captain back to his former club.
The Spain midfielder reportedly told manger Arsene Wenger of his desire to return to the Camp Nou after seven seasons in north London but an initial bid in the region of £25million was still turned down.
Fabregas refused to discuss his club future during the World Cup and has remained tight-lipped following Spain's success in South Africa.

However, Iniesta claims that the midfielder will stay at the Emirates Stadium for one more season before finally returning to Barcelona next summer.

"Cesc wants to be with us, but he told me how close the Arsenal fans are to his heart, He is a special player and I hope he wins the title at Arsenal this season. For them to win Cesc will have to stay fit and injury-free but he deserves to finish with a title. For all the work he has put in at Arsenal it would be a shame if it was all fruitless.I have seen time after time Lionel Messi win games for Barcelona when the rest of the team have not been on form and Cesc can do that for Arsenal this season ," said him in the News of the World.

we are still waiting for the continuation of transfer rumors of the midfielder. :)

Sol Campbell becomes Newcastle United's new Defender

Sol Campbell has joined Newcastle United now. The famous centre back, whose contract with Arsenal ran out at the end of June, moved to St James' Park today on a one-year contract.

It brings to a close Campbell's second spell under Arsène Wenger. His first tenure began in 2001 when he made the short journey across North London from Tottenham. He went on to be the defensive rock in the 2002 Double side and the Invincibles team that won the title without losing a game two years later.

He left in 2006 but returned in January this year, playing 14 games in the latter half of the campaign.
In total, Campbell made 211 appearances for the Club, scoring a dozen goals. His most famous strike came in the 2006 Champions League Final when he headed home Thierry Henry's free-kick for 10-man Arsenal to take the lead and he made it again against Barcelona in UEFA Champions League at Quarter Final stage, but the result was 2-2.

Everyone at Arsenal Football Club would like to wish Sol the best of luck with Newcastle United. :)

Arsenal Pre-Season Friendly Match Report : SC Neusiedl 1919 vs Arsenal FC

The Arsenal Pre-Season Friendly Match Result in Austria against SC Neusiedl is 4-0 for Arsenal FC. In this match, Marouane Chamakh opened his Arsenal account after completed their Austrian training camp with a straightforward 4-0 victory on Tuesday night.
In the first half, Theo Walcott and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas make score , 2-0. The Moroccan's moment came five minutes after he had come on as a half-time substitute. He burst through only to be pushed over by Markus Dombi. Chamakh picked himself up to slot home adroitly from the spot.

Shortly afterwards, another substitute, Carlos Vela, produced the coolest of chips to make it 4-0.

SC Neusiedl also has an opportunity . The referee give them a penalty. However Juray Skripec could not beat Vito Mannone from 12 yards.
The opening quarter of an hour was pedestrian. Jack Wilshere had a shout for a penalty, Andrey Arshavin curled a shot into the arms of keeper Adolf Kaiser and Emmanuel-Thomas showed fine feet in the area but could not follow it up with a shot to match.

Neusiedl's opening chance would be much more clear-cut. In the 16th minute, Michael Koller swung over a corner from the right and skipper Dombi stooped at the near post to thunder in a header. Nasri booted the ball off the line.

It took Arsenal a further 10 minutes to respond. Arshavin's angled shot bounced off Kaiser's shoulder and eventually fell to Walcott at the far post. He cut inside his marker but saw his shot blocked.

However, couple of minutes later Walcott would open the scoring - and from virtually the same spot. Arsenal worked the ball up the left once more. Emmanuel-Thomas found Nasri, who fed the England winger. He arrowed his effort home.

On the half hour Walcott beat the keeper once again but his lob drifted wide.

By now Arsenal had found their groove. Second later, Gibbs cut the ball back for Emmanuel-Thomas to turn swiftly before cracking home a second.

Five minutes after the restart it was 3-0 when Chamakh made his mark.

By now Arsenal were in the zone. In the 65th minute, Nasri's clever touch sent substitute Vela through and the Mexican lifted the ball over the stranded keeper.

However seconds later Neusiedl had the chance to reduce the arrears when Dominik Silberbauer's header was handled by Nordtveit. Skripec stepped up to try and make a little piece of personal history.

However Mannone dived to his left to make a fine stop.

The game petered out after that. Neusiedl were not going to get a better chance and Arsenal had used up their creativity for the night.

After the game, Wenger's men left for England with their season's preparation well on track.

Welcome To Arsenal Blog

Welcome to Arsenal Blog! This blog will give you all information about The Gunners, ARSENAL FC. All preview and review match, match result, match report, transfer linked, rumours, etc. will publish here. As you know , Arsenal FC is one of the biggest club in London, England. It has many supporters around the world.

Arsenal is lead by Arsene Wenger as manager. Arsène Wenger arrived at Highbury in September 1996 after notable success at Monaco and a stint in charge of Japanese side Grampus Eight. He was the Club’s first boss from outside the UK.

Arsenal finished fourth that season but the new manager would officially announce his arrival in his first full campaign at the helm. At one stage in 1997/98 the Gunners trailed leaders Manchester United by 12 points. However, imperious form throughout the second half of the campaign saw Arsenal crowned Premier League champions with two games to spare. Within two weeks, the Gunners had added the FA Cup, securing the Double in Wenger’s first full season in charge.

As well as transforming Arsenal on the pitch, the new manager set about revolutionising his players’ lives away from the pitch, implementing cutting-edge training regimes and dietary systems. The Frenchman was meticulous in his squad construction, adding the likes of Patrick Vieira, Emmanuel Petit and Marc Overmars to a team already boasting Arsenal institutions like David Seaman, Tony Adams and Dennis Bergkamp.

Another Highbury stalwart who continued to flourish under Wenger was Ian Wright. Already closing in on Cliff Bastin’s all-time goalscoring record when the Frenchman arrived, Wright finally scored his magical 179th goal against Bolton Wanderers on September 13, 1997. In the end, perhaps Wenger’s finest signing to date – Thierry Henry - would eclipse Wright’s tally a little over eight years later.

Henry signed in August 1999, after Arsène Wenger’s side had been denied back-to-back titles by one point by Manchester United in the previous May. At first, the Frenchman’s ability to adapt to the rough-and-tumble of the Premier League was questioned, but after failing to score in his first eight games, the former Juventus star plundered an impressive 26 goals that term. Final defeats in the Uefa Cup and FA Cup meant that Henry was still without any Highbury silverware. But not for long.

In 2001/02, Arsène Wenger’s side would surge to a spectacular Double, finishing 12 points clear of Liverpool in the Premier League. They sealed the title with a win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, just days after dispatching Chelsea 2-0 in the FA Cup Final.

Despite lifting the FA Cup once more in 2002/03, back-to-back titles would again elude the Gunners. But they made up for that disappointment in the season that followed, completing an unbeaten title campaign and going on to eclipse Nottingham Forest's long-standing run of League games without defeat. Played 49, Won 36, Drawn 13, Lost None - that Arsenal side was truly 'Invincible'.

Wenger had conquered England but Europe still evaded him. A Quarter-Final defeat against Chelsea in 2004 was the closest Wenger’s Arsenal had come to the biggest prize in European football but that would all change in May 2006 when they went all the way to the Champions League Final in Paris.

Arsenal were quickly becoming one of the most revered sides in Europe. And they underlined their ambition when, in February 2004, construction began on the Gunners' new state-of-the-art home at Ashburton Grove, a stone’s throw from Highbury. The new Emirates Stadium officially opened its doors in the summer of 2006 - a bold step into the future for a Club with a glittering past.

So enjoy this blog. :)
